Bits of the WestCoast

June 6th, 2005 by jingyichin

Wahahahhaha…………. my second blog ever. So fun.

Just got back from the West Coast 3 hours ago. So tired, but it was such a fun trip. Although about 11 hours of it was spent in the car.

Went to Fox Glacier, Lake Matheson and Franz Josef Glacier (wow… so proud of myself, I actually walked 3 hours in total) The view was breathtaking, so beautiful. I read in the Lord of the Rings guide book in the souvenier shop that bits of Lord of the Rings was filmed at the Franz Josef Glacier, how awesome is that? No wonder too…. it was absolutely stunning! Took lots and lots of photos, might be able to put some on here when I can be bothered.

Weather was awesome too, sunny and almost warm, didn’t realise how good the weather was until we got back to chch and froze our butts off.

10 of us went, so I think we all had a great time, non stop eating, lots of walking, and getting to know frens better.

We stayed at Glen Fern Villas just before Franz Josef, an awesome place, so nice and new, plus it was cheap cos Kak Siti got us a deal and it was off peak. Wah, much nicer than any hotel, backpacker or motel I’ve been to. Nicest place ever. So comfortable.

My first blog!!!!!

May 28th, 2005 by jingyichin

Wah….. never had a blog before, I’m guessing it’s some sort of online diary except that everyone gets to read it… hmm…..

I think I’m going to treat it as a updating thingy for my frens so you guys know what’s been going on in my life. hmm… not that it’s all that interesting, and I’ll probably give up updating this next week. I’m lazy what….

To those who’ve heard this all, can ignore. For the other happy updating:

1. I’m still living in christchurch, new zealand

2. I got 2 dogs and 2 cats, Cookie (dog, black lab x alsatian, black and tan, 1 yr 2 months), Muffin (bitch, foxy x ?, black and tan, almost 1 year), Biscuit (tom cat, domestic short hair x some sort of oriental cat, black - with very dark chocolate stripes can only see in the sunlight, almost 7 months), Donut (tom cat, dsh, ginger tabby, almost 4 months). They are all my babies and they are all so cute, got some photos in my profile, none of donut though, you’ll have to look at Tee Chek’s friendster for that

3. Still with Tee Chek, almost 4 years now. Going strong. Do not ask about any other plans. You know what I mean cos I can’t answer them myself.

4. Working as an accountant now, graduated dec 2003, started working at an accounting firm may 2004 as the office junior/accounting trainee, was promoted a month ago when my colleague resigned so I’m now a accountant (although not qualified). http://www.hargreaves.co.nz/
The work isn’t too stressful, I’m still learning all the time, it’s challenging enough so I’m not bored, all my colleagues are nice and friendly, nice place to work. Pay isn’t too bad either.

5. I’m still involved in the Lion Dance club in chch, it’s struggling, we need more members, it’s still fun, so if you’re interested come and join. :) We’re performing this wed (01/06/05) at Global Gala Festival at the Ngaio Marsh Theatre at UCSA building, Canterbury University. Part of Canty’s International Festival.

6. Plans for the future, dependent on Tee Chek finding a permanent job related to his degree in the south island. If he does, we’ll stay here, if he doesn’t we’ll be going back to M’sia. We’ve given ourselves a 6 month timeframe. What to do? Life is full of uncertainties.

Nothing much else I guess, that sums up my life from last year. so short…..
